Accounting and Inventory Management
Retailers are encouraged to use the following forms to track their Scratch ticket inventory and daily sales.

With the system conversion to GTECH on June 26, 2011, there are some accounting changes that retailers should be aware of. These changes are outlined in the following training document:
Additionally, monthly financial reports will be available via e-mail after conversion. The first report available will be August 1, 2011, for the month of July. Contact Lottery Accounting at 800-587-5200 if you would like to receive these reports via e-mail.
There is no age restriction regarding who can sell Nebraska Lottery Lotto and Scratch tickets.
To purchase and redeem Lottery tickets, players must be 19 years of age or older. It is important to always request a form of age verification if you suspect the player is not old enough. Nebraska statutes make it a criminal offense to sell Lottery tickets to a person under 19 years of age, or for someone under 19 years of age to purchase Lottery tickets or redeem Lottery tickets for prizes. A Lottery retailer can have their contract suspended and/or terminated if the Lottery determines that they have violated these restrictions.
To assist retailers in compliance with this regulation, the Lotto terminal contains a birth date reminder message near the bottom of the main screen that shows the date on which a customer must be born on or before in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket. This reminder updates automatically each day.
LB261, passed in February 2010, allows driver’s licenses to be scanned to validate a customer’s age for alcohol, tobacco, or lottery purchases.
LB261 permits retailers selling alcohol, tobacco or lottery tickets to collect and store driver's license numbers and state identification numbers by scanning barcodes on the back of identification cards. The information can be used by law enforcement only for the purpose of enforcing restrictions on age-sensitive products such as alcohol, tobacco and lottery tickets.

Forms of Payment
Retailers can decide which forms of payment they will accept for Lottery purchases. The Nebraska Lottery does not set restrictions on the forms of payment accepted for Lottery purchases, other than a retailer cannot charge Lottery purchases to a store credit account or layaway plan.
Prizes Remaining Information
A prizes remaining sheet is prepared at the beginning of each week (Monday) with the latest information as of the close of the validation/sales week the preceding Saturday. The sheet lists top prizes and major prizes remaining, and notes if a Scratch game is sold out of the Nebraska Lottery warehouse or has begun the game closing process. That dated sheet is distributed to Lottery Sales Representatives to place at retail locations during their regular bi-weekly visits, and is also included in each shipment of tickets to Nebraska Lottery retailers.
Closed Scratch Games
When a Scratch game begins the closing process, a message is sent to every Nebraska Lottery terminal informing retailers that the game is closing. This is the official notice of the close of the game. When you receive this terminal message, please remove any packs of the closed game from your display unit and store them in a secure location.
Lottery Sales Representatives will pick up remaining packs of closed games during their next call cycle. Your LSR can provide special envelopes to hold these packs. We encourage retailers to use these envelopes to secure closed game packs until they are picked up.
